Terms of Service
Legal agreement governing the use of Chuqlab services
Effective Date: October 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Chuqlab's SaaS offerings, including CrimeMiner. By using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Subscription Plans

Account & Access
Account Registration
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your Chuqlab account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
License Grant
Subject to these Terms, Chuqlab grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use CrimeMiner as per your active subscription plan.
Restrictions
You may not:
- ✗ Exceed licensed seats or processing hours without payment
- ✗ Share login credentials with unauthorized users
- ✗ Sublicense, rent, lease, or resell Chuqlab services
- ✗ Modify, decompile, reverse engineer, or distribute Chuqlab code
- ✗ Remove or modify any proprietary notices or labels
Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use Chuqlab services to:
- ✗ Upload illegal or unauthorized data: Only upload evidence you are legally authorized to process
- ✗ Conduct non-lawful investigations: Use CrimeMiner only for legitimate law enforcement purposes
- ✗ Interfere with system operations: Do not attempt to disrupt, damage, or compromise our systems
- ✗ Violate any laws or regulations: Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy can result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.
Data & Security
Your Data
You retain all ownership rights to the data you upload to Chuqlab. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your evidence files or case materials.
Security Measures
- • All data encrypted at rest with AES-256 encryption
- • Data in transit protected with TLS 1.2+ encryption
- • Hosting within AWS U.S. commercial regions only
- • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and access controls
- • Regular security audits and compliance reviews

Payment & Billing
- • Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed monthly on the anniversary of your signup date
- • Payment Methods: We accept purchase orders, wire transfers, and major credit cards
- • Overages: Hours exceeding your plan limit are automatically billed at the applicable overage rate
- • Late Payments: Accounts with payments overdue by 30 days may be suspended
- • Refunds: No refunds for partial months or unused hours
Termination
This agreement may be terminated:
- • By you: Cancel your subscription at any time (effective at end of current billing period)
- • By Chuqlab: For material breach of these Terms or violation of Acceptable Use Policy
- • For non-payment: If payment is not received within 30 days of due date
Upon termination, your access to Chuqlab services will end and your data will be deleted according to our retention policy.
Warranties & Liability
Service Warranty
Chuqlab warrants that CrimeMiner will perform substantially as described in our documentation. If we fail to meet this warranty, your exclusive remedy is service credit or refund at our discretion.
Limitation of Liability
Chuqlab's total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Disclaimer
Services are provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, except as expressly stated above. You are solely responsible for determining the suitability of our services for your purposes.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Marion County, Indiana.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through a notice on our website. Continued use of Chuqlab services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
